“Married or unmarried, every man and woman’s life is going to face a crisis that will make him or her question reason to continue to live amidst all the confusions and unhappy endings that has brough him this far in life.

In this age of growing challenges and uncertainties, one of the most remarkable foundational institution of relationship may never be spared the turmoil of change sweeping across the world.
At 40, whether married or unmarried, your life may experience painful transformation. This is a period of Mid-Crisis in Life. Your marriage may shake in your 40s because this is the period you will experience Mid life Crisis and it does within the ratio of 75% if not more unless you are extremely fortunate then yours would be a classic relationship

In a research report established by an academic research by Colette Allred of Bowling Green State University, USA who have studied marriages between 1990 and 2017.

Midlife crisis is a psychological crisis brought about by events that highlight a person’s growing age, inevitable mortality, and possibly lack of accomplishments in life.
This may produce feelings of intense depression, remorse, and high levels of anxiety, or the desire to achieve youthfulness or make drastic changes to your current lifestyle or feel the wish to change past decisions and events.
Midlife crisis in men can lead to them dating a younger girl to satisfy their desire of feeling young again.

The only person who can help a man going through midlife crisis is the man himself… He needs the company of a friend who is filled with divine wisdom and an understanding of the season he is in.

If you are at this point in your life and suddenly you feel a sense of dissatisfaction, lack of fulfillment, failing marriage and a desire for more alcohol or women than you used to have, reach out to a brother you trust.

And for the women, changes in their body in their 40s lead to insecurities and this affects their trust levels for their men. However, a woman needs a man most in her 40s as she is either at the peak of her career and needs an extra hand or the children are becoming teenagers and parenting gets a bit tricky. In her 40s, the woman would do everything to make her marriage work while the man would resist all her efforts since he is dealing with his own demons.

But in her mid 50s, the woman will stop fighting for anything. She is either accomplished or have embraced her reality. She stops making efforts to change her husband and is more open to divorce. The man on the other hand has achieved some stability in his 50s or accepted the status quo as his reality and is less interested in divorce.

Be conscious of this and you will be better prepared to survive the storms.
